EIDE
Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics
EIDE is an interface which controls the Laptops storage devices such as CD drives, DVD Re-Writers and hard drives.
This interface was both standardised and developed by western digital during the mid nineteen nighties.



Ethernet
An Ethernet is a type of wired LAN (Local Area Network) system that supports data transfer at a rate of 10Mbps.

Ethernet networks are mainly found in a work environment such as offices as many users will need access to the same files and printers can also be connected to an Ethernet so several Laptops can use the same printer.

The very latest Ethernet system (Gigabit Ethernet) now supports transfer rates of up to 1000Mbits (Gigabit).



Email
Electronic Mail
An Email is a message sent over the internet from one Laptop to another. You can include files and documents with emails such as photo’s or music files and these are know as email attachments.
