A hard disk drive is the Laptops primary storage device and is used for storing your programs, games and also other software such as the computers operating system.
Hyper Threading
Hyperthreading
Hyper threading is a technology developed by intel that allows a Laptops processor to calculate or process 2 threads at the same time instead of 1. This obviously increases speed and performance and this technology is mainly found it Intels Pentium 4 Processors.
Hotlink
Hotlinking is also known as Banwidth theft and it is were one website displays an image that is being hosted on another website’s server using that websites bandwidth and not it’s own.
For example, say two websites were selling the same model of Laptops and both had the same image of them on their websites. One site would have the image file legitimately stored on their own webserver and it’s webpage would call up that image directly from the server whenever the webpage was loaded.
The other site’s webpage would have a reference to the file on the first website’s server which would then be displayed on that site’s webpage and every time the image is displayed it is using bandwidth from the first website and not the second.
This is a very underhand tactic and runs the risk of copyright infringement and also runs the risk that the images website administrator could discover this site hotlinking to its image and simply replace the image on their server for perhaps a comical one or maybe even offensive.
HD
High Definition (High Definition Television / HDTV)
HD is a digital broadcasting technology offering a much greater resolution than a normal signal such as PAL or NTSC.
For a High Definition Television to display a HD picture it requires a high definition source such as a HD Satellite digital signal such as SKY HD or via a HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) cable connected to a HD DVD player, Blue ray player or high definition gaming console such as the latest Sony Playstation and Microsoft Xbox.
Many of today’s Laptops now feature a High Definition display and some even have a HD or blue ray drive installed.

This is a connection interface used for transmitting uncompressed audio/video digital streams from one source to another such as a Blue Ray player to a High definition television.
HSDPA
High Speed Download Packet Access.
HSDPA is a third generation (3G) communications protocol which allows any network based on a Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) to transfer data at higher speeds and with greater capacity.
Many mobile phone networks such as O2, Vodafone etc are using this technology to allow Laptops high speed internet access without using a phone line meaning that not only can you work out of the office but you can also connect to the internet / Email from almost anywhere (provided that area is covered by the provider - Just like with a mobile phone).
HTML
Hyper Text Markup Language
HTML is the international standard for Markup which basically means that it is the standard format for Hyper Text documents such as webpages. Most webpages are written in HTML whilst others are written in flash or DHTML which is almost the same but with dynamic content in it such as interactive menu’s.
