IDE
Integrated Drive Electronics
Also know as ATA (Advanced technology Attachment) is a standard used by a Laptops hard dick drives where the controller for the it is integrated into the device.



iLink
ilink is Sony’s copyrighted version of firewire which is a very fast digital link allowing data transfer between electrical storage devices such as camcorders and Laptops.



Internet
World Wide Web
Well if your reading this then you probably already know what the internet is. It is a global wide network of Laptops / computer systems and is commonly know as the world wide web (WWW).



Internet Explorer
IE
Internet explorer is a software developed by Microsoft and is the most commonly used web browser. It renders web pages onto your mobile computers display.


IMAP
Internet Message Access Protocol
This is an internet message protocol system allowing clients to access email on a remote server.
What this means is that by using this you don’t need to physically check your email server to view your emails as the can be downloaded to your own home computer.



IP Address
Internet Protocol
All computers that are connected to the internet have an IP address which is a digit divided into 4 sections by decimal point. For example 132.456.22.101.



ISP
Internet Service Provider
This is the company that supplies your internet. For example a few well know ones are Sky, AOL, Demon, Tiscali, BT etc.
