Laptop Jargon Buster - Letter K

 

Kb
Kilobyte
A kilobyte is a unit of measurement given to storage devices such as the hard disk drives found in most Laptops.
1 Kilobyte is equal to 1024 Byte’s.



Keyboard
A keyboard is a peripheral used to input characters and each key has it’s own character.
Some key’s have more than one character assigned to them and these extra characters can be used by holding down another key whilst pressing the original one (shift+2 for a speech mark for example).
All laptops now come with their own built in keyboard.
